Lincoln County Treasurer’s Office will have our 2025 Tax Lien Sale for 2024 taxes on November 6th, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. We have partnered once again with GovEase to bring you another online Tax Lien Auction this year. Beginning October 9th at 10:00 AM, you can register for the online auction at http://liveauctions.govease.com/Bidder/UserProfile. Training will be provided by their team and can be found at http://www.govease.com/bidderhelp. Pre-bidding will be available November 5th, 2025, online beginning at 10:00 AM to allow for bid limits to be set if you are unable to monitor the sale live on the 6th of November. Our sale list has been published in the Limon Leader paper and is attached below, along with our 2025 flyer for sale information. 2025 GOVEASE ONLINE SALE FLYER
As of July 1st, 2024, Colorado House Bill 24-1056 has effectively changed how the Treasurer's Deed process is handled. Treasurer's Deeds are no longer automatically issued to the lien holder that applied, they are now sold through a second public auction to the highest bidder, allowing a "third-party" to bid against the original tax lien certificate holder. The opening bid will be the combined value of the amount owed to the original holder and the fees and costs incurred during the deed process. When an auction is completed, the original tax lien certificate holder will have the option to "redeem" out a "third-party" for the auction purchase price if they would still like ownership to the property in question. At this time, the only applications accepted for Treasurer's Deed are for Real Property and Mineral Rights, manufactured homes are excluded from the process. Legislative teams are working currently to change many areas in HB24-1056, and updates will be provided as they are available.
